I Am Benough
I Lost My Voice (stop laughing)
Hi team, seeing as I lost my voice last week and need to give it lots of rest, I asked loyal newsletter fan Shaylee to write today's newsletter.
Hello to my fans!
I’m sure you’re all thrilled to hear from me, but rather than bore you with my week of wedding planning, I thought I would act as Ben’s missing voice and give his update for the week (from my perspective).
So here goes:
Almost two weeks ago, Ben had a serious case of Acute Viral Nasopharyngitis (commonly known as a “man cold”). He, understandably, was very concerned that this might affect his upcoming Disneyland/Universal Studios family trip. The stakes were high. Would he be able to overcome this “man cold” and make the trip? Or would his wife and children be left fatherless, doomed to fare on their own?
Ultimately, he decided to brave the trip.
Before takeoff for their flight to California, Ben informed us that he used a nasal spray to make the flight more bearable for his failing body. He later stated that this nasal spray was like “magic” and he “had never felt better”. I’ll admit I don’t know all the details, but apparently the doctors also had informed him that if he used it more than 3 times in a month, he could die. Considering he used it again on the way back, I think we as a community should keep an eye on him and his use of this nasal spray, just in case.
Having been cured by this magic nasal spray, the rest of the trip went great. His kids were immersed in the magic of Disney and Super Nintendo, and were able to meet their heroes. To preserve their privacy, I’ve provided my own interpretation of a photo Ben shared that captured the moment Milo was able to meet the one and only Lightning McQueen.

Anyway, that’s enough of Ben.
Seeing the wonder on Milo’s face as he met Lightning McQueen (which I did my best to capture) was truly inspiring to me.
How often do we miss out on noticing the ordinary things in our lives that as children may have brought us joy? There's so much wonder in our world. Sunsets. Technology. People's ability to eat so many Costco hot dogs in complete denial of the damage they will do to their digestive tract. The things humanity will go to for a $1.50 cultural phenomenon.
On a genuine note, I’m getting married soon and occasionally just fall into the wonder that two people can love each other so much.
So hold your loved ones close, and wonder together at the joy life can bring.
And maybe watch Cars (ka-chow)
